Sponsor Us
White Whale Theatre is a bold young company interested in creating new and dynamic theatre works for diverse audiences. In our increasingly commodified and technology driven society theatre is an age-old medium that continues to exist against the odds. It is through patronage, generosity and social vision that the world of theatre and live performance is made possible.
We are always looking for individuals and organisations who would like to assist us with financial backing or donations of other kinds.
Any donations to WWT are fully Tax Deductible as we are set up to receive funds through the Australian Cultural Fund (part of the Australian Business Arts Foundation, see www.abaf.org.au), which has Deductible Gift Recipient status.
Friends of White Whale Theatre is our sponsorship branch and has the following levels of friendliness:
1. Captain Ahabs (Top Level)
2. First Mates
3. Headsmen
4. Harpooneers
5. Landlubbers

Corporate SponsorshipAs the ‘cultural capital’ of Australia, Melbourne is renowned for its affordable venues, well-attended Festivals and Fringe events, flourishing amateur arts, music and literary scenes, famous laneway café/bar entertainment culture and consistent theatre audiences.
More than any other Australian city, Melbourne is an effective location for corporate sponsorship of the Arts. In becoming a Project Partner of White Whale Theatre, corporate entities can have unique access to a specific target market and will be in a strong position to effectively promote its product in new niche areas.

Work on a Show
As one of Melbourne’s most exciting new theatre companies, WWT offers opportunities to those with skills, experience or passion to be involved in one of our projects.
We are always on the lookout for new talent in the areas of lighting, sound, graphic, costume and set design; direction; writing; stage crew; photography; audio visual design; stage management; choreography, and acting. WWT’s focus is not just on individual skills and talent; we approach theatre from the perspective of community and creative process.
If you are interested in joining our production team or ensemble contact us.
Come to a WWT Play Sounding!
‘WWT Play Soundings’ are our monthly play readings held at Glitch Bar (318 St Georges Rd, North Fitzroy). It is a positive way to bring our actors, writers, designers, creators, crew, friends, and interested parties together for a regular social occasion, and provides an avenue to meet new people who may want to work with the Whale. It also gives us a chance to be experimental and to connect with both new scripts (and new writers) and little-known older works.
If you would like to come along to a Play Sounding on the first Wednesday of every month, kicking off @ 7.30pm (and we’d love to see you there) please contact us to find out the next scheduled date.
